Experience

  • WEB DEVELOPER:

    Maintained and updated a total of 84 websites of an industrial labeler company. Performed as primary PHP and javascript coder on a team alongside two designers and an SEO specialist. Wrote Java and PHP based programs to help automate many of the common maintenance tasks. Wrote database driven application to monitor search engine performance of all of the company's sites to assist in focusing SEO efforts.

  • BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYST:

    Built, maintained, updated, and analyzed reports for multiple call center clients. Data included all forms of customer, client, and business facing metrics, with analysis on root causes and interrelated correlations between them. Reports were built in Microsoft Excel and Access.

  • DECENNIAL CENSUS ASSISTANT CREW LEADER:

    Helped manage a team of a dozen enumerators. Evaluated workers and work quality, performed quality control checks, motivated workers to meet deadlines, and solved problems and difficult cases as they occurred. Gained supervisory experience and learned how to effectively manage a team towards a common goal.

  • ATOMIC, MOLECULAR, AND OPTICAL PHYSICS RESEARCH:

    Worked in a university physics lab on an experiment studying the effects of a resonant laser incident on an atomic sample. Designed and built a diode laser system, including accompanying electronics and mounting hardware, for use in the experiment. Gained intimate and practical knowledge of laboratory tools, techniques, and equipment.

  • ASTRONOMY RESEARCH:

    Wrote proposals for observation time on the 61 inch Kuiper telescope, and used granted time to make numerous observations of the transit of the extra-solar planet TrES-1b. Photometric analysis showed an anomaly which was interpreted to be detection of a star spot. Work was presented in a paper which was submitted to and accepted by the Astrophysical Journal.
